How it works
Trucks a week × the share that run past their free time gives the trucks that pay detention. Each of those is billed for the average time past free time, at your carriers' hourly rate.
It is an estimate. Carriers bill differently: some in quarter-hour or half-hour steps, some with a minimum, and free time is usually counted from the appointment time, not from when the driver arrives. Your carrier agreements have the real terms, and your own arrival and departure times are what let you check an invoice.
